UK rates
| Service | Cost | Estimated delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Standard UK delivery (orders under £75) | £4.95 | 2–3 working days |
| Standard UK delivery (orders £75 and over) | Free | 2–3 working days |
| Two-person handling — illuminated mirrors and mirror cabinets | £25 (per order) | 3–5 working days |
The two-person handling charge applies once per order, not per item, and is shown at checkout before you pay. It covers mirrors and mirror cabinets, which are heavy, glazed and cannot travel on a standard parcel network without arriving in pieces.
International rates
Lights, spots, shaver sockets, extractors and accessories travel by tracked courier. Illuminated mirrors and mirror cabinets travel timber crated on freight.
| Destination | Courier items | Free over | Crated glass | Estimated delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Europe, including Ireland, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway and Switzerland | £14.95 | £200 | £89 | 4–8 working days courier, 12–20 crated |

Free-over thresholds apply to courier items only. Crated glass is never free. One charge per order, not per item.
International delivery is kerbside. The two-person, into-the-property handling is a United Kingdom service only.
Voltage and wiring — please read before ordering
Everything electrical we sell is built to United Kingdom and European specification: 220 to 240 volts, 50 hertz, supplied for hardwiring to a fixed circuit, with G9, GU10, E14 and E27 lamp holders and integrated LED drivers rated for 230 volts.
- Europe, Ireland, the UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Africa and most of Africa and Asia run on 220 to 240 volts. Our fittings work correctly on your supply and your electrician wires them in as they would any local fitting.
- The United States, Canada and Japan run on 100 to 127 volts. Our fittings will not work on that supply. An integrated LED mirror is not a lamp you can swap — the driver is built in and it is a 230 volt part. Please email support@homartuk.com before ordering anything electrical if you are in North America or Japan.
Non-electrical items travel anywhere — unlit mirrors, cabinets without lighting or demisting, shelving, rails, hooks and accessories have no voltage question at all. If you are in a 110 volt country, that part of the range is open to you without reservation.
Bathroom zones, IP ratings and local wiring rules
This matters more in a bathroom than anywhere else in a house, and the rules are not the same in every country.
Our products are rated to BS EN 60529 and specified against the zone system in BS 7671, the United Kingdom wiring regulations, which divides a bathroom into Zones 0, 1 and 2 with a minimum IP rating for each. In the UK, bathroom electrical work is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations and must be certified by a competent person. Our Bathroom Zones & IP Ratings page explains it.
Outside the United Kingdom your own national rules apply instead. The IEC zone concept is used widely across Europe and the Gulf, and an IP44 fitting is an IP44 fitting everywhere — that part travels. What does not travel is the certification: the United States and Canada work to the NEC and the Canadian Electrical Code, which have their own requirements for bathroom circuits, GFCI protection and luminaire listing.
Our fittings carry UKCA and CE marking as applicable. That is not a UL, ETL or CSA listing. If your local code, inspector, insurer or landlord requires a national listing mark, our fittings will not satisfy it, and a bathroom is exactly the room where an inspector will look. Please check before ordering rather than after your electrician arrives.
Certificates and declarations of conformity for UK and EU installations are on our Installation & Certificates page and we will supply them for any order, anywhere.
Import duty and local tax
Orders shipped outside the United Kingdom do not include import duty or local sales tax. What you pay us covers the goods and the carriage only. Your customs authority sets the charge, the carrier or a broker collects it before delivery, and there is usually a handling fee on top. You are the importer of record, and if a shipment is refused or abandoned over unpaid charges it comes back to us at our cost — we refund the goods but not the carriage either way.
Processing
Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are normally picked the same day. Orders placed later, at weekends or on a bank holiday are picked the next working day.
Glass items
Mirrors, mirror cabinets and glass pendants are sent double-boxed with corner protection on a two-person service in the United Kingdom. The driver will bring them into the property but will not carry them upstairs or unpack them. Please inspect the glass before the driver leaves — damage noted at the door is replaced immediately and without argument.
For international orders the same items are timber crated rather than double-boxed, because a mirror on a ten-week sea crossing is handled and stacked far more than one on a lorry to Leeds. Our crating is built for it and the great majority arrive perfectly, but the risk is higher than a domestic delivery and we would rather say so. Sign for international freight as damaged if the crate is damaged — without that note the carrier will normally reject the claim, and there is very little we can do afterwards.
Tracking
You'll receive a dispatch email with tracking as soon as your order leaves us. International freight is tracked to the destination port and then by the local delivery agent, who will contact you to arrange a date. If it hasn't arrived within the estimated window, email support@homartuk.com with your order number and we'll chase the carrier.
Areas outside the standard network
Some Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scilly Isles and Channel Islands postcodes fall outside our standard UK service, particularly for glass. If yours is affected we'll contact you before dispatch with the additional cost, and you're free to cancel for a full refund at that point. The same applies to any international address a freight carrier cannot reach.
Damage in transit
Check the goods on arrival. If a parcel is visibly damaged, note it when signing and photograph it. Report damage to us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll replace the item at no cost. Reporting later doesn't remove your statutory rights, but photographs taken on the day make it far quicker.
Before you book the electrician
Please don't book fitting until the goods have arrived and you have opened and checked them. Carriers are occasionally late, and we can't cover the cost of a wasted trade visit. On an international order this matters far more — sea freight dates move by weeks, not days, so book your electrician once the crate is in the house and opened, not when the tracking says it has landed.
